More about Adam

Adam’s passion for progressive, high-quality care, and a desire to maximize athletic potential and minimize injury risk, have driven him to teach practical and sustainable habits by educating athletes on such principles as energy balance, load management, and intensity undulation. As a multi-credentialed professional, he can communicate across the spectrums of sports performance and medical care. This ensures his athletes have a seamless transition from medical to performance training or vice versa and back again. He has worked in a strength and conditioning and medical capacity with all levels of USGA competitive gymnasts, in-season and off-season medical and regenerative care for MLB, MiLB, and NFL, and provided services for combine and pro-day preparations and on-site management.

Adam prides himself on providing research-backed programming and care that promotes individual resilience and personal ownership of one’s health. Adam’s practice of physical therapy has integrated changes well ahead of the curve with the integration of strength and conditioning principles. Understanding the principles of tissue biology and physiology, mechanisms for tissue and system adaptations, and the progressive means by which to maximize improvement in these have kept him, and the team he works with, at the forefront of strength and conditioning and sports medicine rehabilitation. He is keen to quickly assess the problems or deficits, obtain the necessary data, formulate a plan or diagnosis, and aggressively resolve and/or address the existing issue to return athletes to their prior level of function or begin them on their strength and conditioning program.

Adam understands firsthand the importance of expediting care and expediently making pivotal decisions. He has served as an ATC providing on-field medical care during all levels of sport including NCAA and professional football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. In these environments, time is of the essence and critical decisions need to be made with sound reasoning and confidence. This applies well to the sports performance realm where every hour is accounted for in an athlete’s preparation and time cannot be wasted. Tork blends a team of strength coaches and physical therapists to ensure athletes have access to fast assessments, outside consultations, and follow-up care should it be required.Adam currently resides in Saint Johns County with his wife, 4 kids, and dog. His kids are all involved in athletics. His daughter is a level 8 gymnast and his boys are active in tackle and off-season football leagues. Weekends are mostly spent traveling, attending, and helping out with athletic events as a family.
