How do you tailor programs to individual goals and needs?
  • We conduct a comprehensive assessment of each athlete's current fitness level, strengths, weaknesses, and any limitations or injuries. Once the data is obtained, we discuss the results and address the athlete's deficits, and create an individualized program to improve them, while taking into consideration the athlete's goals.
Can you help me improve my speed, strength, and agility for my specific sport?
  • At Tork Sports Performance, we incorporate speed and agility work into your strength training program. Sprint mechanic drills are taught to decrease mechanical inefficiencies and utilized during sprinting sessions. If speed and agility are pertinent, exercises and drills will be implemented to develop the physical characteristics of the athlete to improve acceleration, deceleration, top-end speed, change-of-direction, and agility.
How often should I train to see results?
  • The frequency of training sessions depends on current fitness level, training experience, recovery capacity, and the specific goals trying to be achieved. We take into account these factors and based on the client's assessment results and whether they are in-season or off-season, provide our recommended training frequency. 
How do you approach injury prevention and rehabilitation?
  • If an athlete gets injured during a training session or outside the facility from team practice, lessons, games, etc., we have Atlas Physical Therapy on-site to do a quick triage and provide rehabilitation services. If the physical therapist deems that the athlete must pause training and do rehab, they can do so in the same facility through Atlas. Training sessions do not expire, so once the PT clears the athlete, they can resume training and we will adjust their program accordingly if necessary.
  • Injury prevention is a crucial aspect of sports performance training. A system incorporating fundamental movement patterns, strength training, flexibility and mobility, corrective exercises, proper technique and form, exercise science principles, recovery, education and communication, and continuous monitoring and adjustment, allows us to minimize the risk of injury and optimize an athlete's long-term health, well-being, and athletic performance.
How do you track progress and measure success?
  • Tracking progress and measuring success is essential for evaluating the effectiveness of a training program and ensuring that athletes are making meaningful improvements toward their goals. We track progress through performance metrics, physical assessments, training logs, subjective feedback, and sport-specific performance.
  • Success can also be tracked through athletes sharing their achievements on social media such as winning a club tournament or school championship, committing to a college, or getting drafted to a professional team.
